Jonathan and Drew Scott Net Worth: From Backyard Fences

Jonathan and Drew Scott, the twins everyone recognises from the “Property Brothers” shows, are sitting on a seriously impressive net worth these days. The two Canadian brothers have built themselves a real estate and home renovation empire that’s now worth $200 million. Yup, $200 million, combined.

But honestly? It didn’t just happen overnight, and it certainly wasn’t all TV glitz and glam from the start.

Childhood: Plot Twist at Birth

So here’s something funny: when their mom went into labour back on April 28, 1979, in Vancouver, nobody knew she was having twins. Jonathan came out first, and then boom, surprise, Drew popped out four minutes later. Their parents, Jim and Joanne Scott, were shocked. No ultrasound back then.

Their dad, Jim, had moved to Canada from Scotland as a teen with cowboy dreams seriously. He even worked in the film industry for a while before deciding to slow down and raise a family. They ended up moving to a horse farm in Maple Ridge, B.C., and that’s where the boys started getting their hands dirty literally.

Young Hustlers from Day One

These two were always grinding, even as little kids. At seven years old, they launched their first business called JAM, selling hangers covered in nylon. Door to door. One lady liked them so much that she ordered thousands of them. That’s how it started.

They also worked as clowns at parades. Real talk. Full face paint and everything, juggling, balloons, the works. At one point, they were making $100 an hour being clowns. Not bad for two kids under 10.

Their dad had them building fences and fixing barns by age 8, and by 14, the whole family was working together to build their dream house in Alberta. That’s when the home reno seed got planted.

College & Early Mistakes

After high school, they moved to Calgary for college. But honestly, school wasn’t where they shone. They bought their first house at 18 using a crazy small down payment of just $250, and started flipping it. They rented it out and pocketed $800 a month, then sold it for a $50K profit. That was the first of numerous flips.

But it wasn’t all wins. Jonathan tried his hand at being a magician (yep, for real) and put together some massive illusions, hoping to tour. But someone scammed him out of the whole thing. He lost $80,000 and had to file for bankruptcy at age 20. He didn’t even tell his parents at the time; he was that embarrassed.

Drew had his struggles, too. He quit college and was working as a flight attendant at WestJet for a while. Eventually, they both decided to get serious about real estate. Jonathan went back to school to study construction and design, and Drew got his real estate license in 2004.

Building the Brand

In 2004, they officially launched Scott Real Estate, Inc. They were flipping homes, renovating, handling construction projects, full-on real estate guys at this point. They even opened multiple branches in different cities.

By 2010, they decided to get into content too, starting Scott Brothers Entertainment, a production company. It started with film but quickly turned into a content hub for TV and digital. That’s where the Property Brothers brand was born.

They became known for taking total wrecks of homes and turning them into dream spaces. And even though the shows were a hit, they didn’t just stick to TV. They started brands like Scott Living (home furniture and decor), Dream Homes, and even got their outdoor furniture line on QVC. These guys built a full lifestyle brand around renovations.

In 2017, they pulled everything under Scott Brothers Global, their master brand. These days, they’re still growing it like a start-up.

Personal Lives: Relationships, Kids & More

Let’s get into the personal stuff because fans always want to know.

Jonathan Scott

Age: 46 (born April 28, 1979)

Height: Around 6'5" (yeah, super tall)

Weight: Not public, but he’s fit for health and illusionist performances

Married: Not currently

Kids: None yet

Jonathan was married once to Kelsy Ully back in 2007. She was a crew scheduler for WestJet. But once they moved to Vegas and her job shifted to modelling and waitressing, things got rocky. They split in 2010. Later on, he dated Jacinta Kuznetsov for a few years, but that ended in 2018.

Then came Zooey Deschanel. Yup, that Zooey. They met while filming an episode of Carpool Karaoke in 2019, just after she announced her divorce. They have been going strong since.

Oh, and he still performs as an illusionist from time to time. Vegas shows, special gigs, he’s legit.

Drew Scott

Age: Also 46 (duh, they’re twins)

Height: Same tall genes, 6'4"

Weight: Healthy and athletic

Married: Yup

Kids: Yes, he and his wife Linda have one son, born in 2022

Drew married Linda Phan in 2018 in a beautiful Italian destination wedding. They were engaged for two years before tying the knot. They keep things pretty private, but he mostly talks about how she keeps him grounded. Total softie.

Drew’s into health, too black belt in karate, super into positive habits, and a fan of Tony Robbins. He even reinforced Hillary Clinton during her campaign and has gotten involved with different causes and docu-series on sustainability.

Giving Back

One thing people don’t always know about the Scotts is how much charity work they do.

They’ve both worked closely with Habitat for Humanity, St. Jude’s and cancer initiatives. In 2016, they were named Habitat Humanitarians, which is the org’s top honour. They’ve also worked on projects with Michelle Obama during her First Lady years, especially around the “Let’s Move” campaign.

And yeah, they also love basketball. They’ve played in the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game more than once.

Wrapping It Up

So yeah, Jonathan and Drew Scott didn’t just stumble into fame. These two worked their butts off from childhood, hustled through clown gigs, got burned by scammers, flipped houses as teens, and turned their aids into a global brand.

They’re worth $200 million now, but their story is way more about grit than glam. From broken fences to red carpets, from hanger sales to massive home lines, they’ve done it all with hard work and a little twin enchantment.

And that’s the real story behind the Property Brothers.
