Penn Badgley was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on November 1, 1986. His father was named Lynne Murphy Badgley, and his mother was named Duff Badgley, who worked as a newspaper reporter and carpenter. Badgley split his childhood years between Richmond, Virginia and Seattle, Washington. He started his early career by doing voice-overs in the Seattle Children’s Theatre for a children’s radio station. It was the time through which he discovered his love for acting and later became his passion. Badgley’s love for acting brought him to Hollywood, where he landed an agent and his first big break, guest-starring on Will & Grace (1998). In this series, his character was in love with Blake Lovely’s character, who has a real name, Serena van der Woodsen, who gets her popularity on the Upper East Side, and so was the actor.
